We completed a desk study review and site investigation for a complex redevelopment project within the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham located on the bank of the River Thames.

The site investigation was designed to determine the deep ground conditions for foundation and retaining wall design, as well as to establish the degree of contamination within the soils and groundwater. In addition, in view of the location of the site adjacent to the River Thames, we adopted specialist geophysical investigation methods in order to locate existing tie-rods and anchor blocks that support the nearby river wall. This involved detailed collaboration with the Local Authority and Environment Agency, as well as numerous other stakeholders.

Our reporting included a detailed 3D ground model as well as recommendations for detailed design.

Work on this riverside development is anticipated to start on site in 2020, following the completion of the detailed design work.
