Amy joined GEA in December 2024 with nearly 10 years experience as a geotechnical engineer, having worked at an engineering consultant based in London after undertaking a PhD at Brunel University on anomalous ground conditions within the London Basin. Her research furthered understanding into the geology of London geology and reduced subsurface risk for future engineering projects.
During her PhD, Amy also taught engineering geology and geotechnics on the Civil Engineering undergraduate course across the lecture room, laboratory and field trips.
Amy has been involved in a wide range of geotechnical projects including designing the retaining walls for Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium, slope stability and retaining wall design for multiple Network Rail projects across the southwest of England, basement impact assessments, ground movement assessments and asset impact assessments for Thames Water, London Underground and Transport for London.
